Can anything stop the march of time?

January 20, 2010

Well, unfortunately for many of our beloved bombshells, premature death saw them stay forever young. Marilyn Monroe, Carole Lombard, and  Jean Harlow never had to worry about the appearance of that first wrinkle. (Well, maybe they did, neurotic as many of them doubtless were about their looks, but you know what we mean.)

And even if they had wanted anti-ageing cures, there weren’t many available back in the 1940s and ’50s. Nowadays however, we are inundated with ways to ‘preserve’ our youth.

Here at BB we’re not overly keen on the pillow-face filler look, or the expressionless Botox style. But, we do like to give any new anti-ageing creams a go, and have enjoyed trying out Origins new Starting Over Age-erasing Moisturizer with Mimosa (£34,

It claims to visibly level lines and reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and we think it maybe does really work. Last weekend, this Bombshell writer’s age was guessed at 10 years younger than her real one. Not bad Origins! It’s the sort of compliment any bombshell or wannabe bombshell dreams of!

So what is this youth-giving secret formula? The Mimosa tree, or more specifically, its bark. The Mimosa bark works with Argan Leaf an Green Algae to help skin boost its own natural collagen, and a skin evening complex, containing apple extract, cucumber extract and something called Scutellaria Baicalensis Root address dull and uneven looking skin tone.

We’re going to keep on using it after the results we’ve had  – and after all, we’re sure the bombshells would have lapped it up had it been around in their day.
