Dior’s Boudoir Chic
With her black lace veil, modern-day bombshell Monica Bellucci brings to mind such silent screen vamps as Gloria Swanson and Theda Bara in this publicity shot for Dior’s 1920s-inspired cosmetics collection for spring/summer 2010.
The spring look celebrates the legendary couturier Christian Dior’s long love affair with lace while taking inspiration from current house designer John Galliano’s latest fashion collection.
And not only are the ultra-feminine shades of pinks, lilacs and pearl inspired by vintage lace and lingerie; the pressed powders – such as the limited edition Soft Powder Blush in Vintage Pink , (£28, www.dior.com), left, and the exquisite eyeshadows (from £28 for a duo) are rendered particularly covetable by the lace pattern embossed on them.
We’re betting that Lana Turner (pictured right) and some of our other favourite lace-loving bombshells would have adored this classy collection.
Mind you, such delicate shades of Dior Addict Lipcolor (£21.50) as Pink Eyelet and Pink Bustier and the limited edition Dior Addict Lip Polish in Petal Pink (£20.50) might have been just a little too subtle for some of them…
